I found myself walking,
wondering what I would see.
I wasn't really talking,
but listening to a pretty melody.

I found a little ladybug,
red and black with spots.
Then looked over and found a slug;
His shell all in a knot.

"These bugs" I said,
"do they have thoughts?
they are so small with their legs and head.
Their brains must be the size of dots."

"How do they decide what leaf to eat,
what drop of water to drink,
where to go in too much heat,
or how to float and not sink?"

"They must have brains,
how are they alive?
Does blood run through their veins?
Can they even count to the number five?"

I then looked up and heard a bird chirp,
the buzzing of a bee,
a frog burp,
and saw a dragonfly that looked right back at me.

Of course these bugs can think!
Or they couldn't do these amazing things.
The bird then gave me a wink,
as it flew away using it's wings.
